Capturing Kelly + Josh’s love in still photos was much more than a typical session. The photos were taken earlier this year – on their original wedding date.
Like so many other couples in 2020, the two made the decision to reschedule their original wedding date due to the global health pandemic.
After they set their new date, which I am so happy I was still available for, Kelly reached out and said she just wanted to take some pictures to mark their original wedding weekend. Such a great idea!
They came to Eau Claire — and Kelly even surprised Josh with a cake for the session.
We started in an absolute indoor oasis, Down to Earth Garden Center, my favorite greenhouse ever. The location is literally picture perfect and a green glorious contrast from the white Wisconsin outdoors.
But in true Midwest form, we ended the session on a frozen lake where, cuddled up on layered blankets and plaid flannel, the two cut their cake and ate it too.
“I said all I wanted to do was wear white and eat cake,” Kelly laughed as she talked about her response when asked on changing dates.
And that’s just what she did, with her soon-to-be husband by her side.
“True love stories never have endings,” said novelist Richard Bach.
So happy to capture this chapter of their never-ending love story — cheers until the next January when those wedding bells will finally ring. Can’t wait.
Thanks again to Down to Earth Garden Center for letting us use your luscious green and warm space.
